Carowinds expands! -largest investment in family attractions in the park’s history!”

Carowinds is taking steps to implement new family friendly rides,

One of the rides will be an interactive raft ride in Camp Snoopy and will open next year. If you don’t know Camp Snoopy is a 400 acre amusement park within the Carowinds. Camp Snoopy is also working on a meet and greet section with characters from the popular comic series dating over 70 years ago Peanuts. (More information here if you are interested.

But the fun doesn’t stop there as they have plans to add a new splash zone are too!

We learned of all this through an announcement a couple months after Cedar Fair (previous owner of Carowinds) and Six Flags completed there $8 billion merger. “These new features will transform Camp Snoopy into more than just a place to play and cool off. It will become a destination,” Manny Gonzalez Carowinds vice president and general manager said.

Here is a list of some new developments at Camp Snoopy

 

  • Snoopy’s Racing Railway: A family friendly street launch coaster with Dips and turns
  • Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast: Spray other boats with the onboard cannons while navigating the river channel!
  • Splash Play Zone: More details to come but rest assured knowing it will feature plenty of water features and shade for those hot SC/NC summer days
  • Camp Store: As mentioned above this area has been remodeled and will house the peanut’s characters to meet with your littles.

At this time Entertainment spokesperson Gary Rhodes stated “We do not anticipate any immediate changes to our pricing, ticket options or season passes.”
